Events ArchiveThe Hungarian Government helps Bosnia–Herzegovina in preventing future floods after having suffered severe damage in the 2014 floods, through Priority Area No. 5 ‘Managing Environmental Risks’ of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the EU Danube Region Strategy.
Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in line with Priority Area No. 5 ‘Managing environmental risks’ of the EU Danube Region Strategy has organized a flood protection further training programme. The educational project, financed by the Hungarian Government, is held in Jahorina near Sarajevo, in Bosnia-Herzegovina on 9th-12th June 2015.
The project aims to further train the Bosnian-Herzegovinian local government experts delegated for supervising the protection activity as well as the flood protection experts with the involvement of Hungarian experts.
The syllabus of the 4-day, 32-hour training programme got eventuated by the recent extreme floods in Bosnia-Herzegovina, more specifically the devastating floods of June 2013 and May 2014 causing casualties and severe damage. The training, that takes place from 9th to 12th June 2015, will be attended by about 60-70 Bosnian-Herzegovinian experts as previously expected.
The official public press opening of the training takes place at Hotel Bistrica in Jahorina at 10.30 am, 9th June 2015. The programme will be opened by Mr. Admir Softic, Undersecretary (Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations), Mr. István Joó, Danube Region Strategy Ministerial Commissioner (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade), and Mr. László Dobi, Co-ordinator of Priority Area 5 of Danube Region Strategy.
